Abstract
Physiochemical properties play an important role in the biological activity of nanoparticles, especially when assessing nanotoxicity. Nanoparticles have unique properties due to their surface area, shape, size, and structure, hence they can be expected to have different toxicities when compared to conventional size materials. Therefore, in order to provide a better understanding of the toxicity of ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles, the particle size distribution, crystalline structure, composition, and surface area have been studied. The aim of this study was to characterise and compare the physicochemical properties of sunscreen particles and further determine the potential impact they have on overall toxicity.
