Abstract
This project is the examination of an interdisciplinary practice that conducts a series of experimental investigations into the zones between drawing, painting and sculpture through the studio environment, popular culture and everyday life. This research also demonstrates how my investigation revolves around and moves towards painting, yet does not always involve the direct approach of paint on stretched canvas. As a result, this project grants status to the accretion of preliminary works as a kind of grand collage of the painter’s studio and is an inventory of such pieces. This investigation is a thorough exploration of a way of working that is less defined by a particular discipline and open to more expansive possibilities in a playful practice that is governed by experimentation, restlessness, influence, materiality, the hand’s intervention and interrogative processes.
