dc.description.abstract This brief commentary is a response to an accusation of 'arrogance' levelled against me because I had claimed to identify 'the' feminist position on heterosexuality in my two replies to Wendy Hollway. I agree with the accuser that that was indeed what I was doing, but disagree that this justifies the ad hominem name-calling. I point out that what is at stake is a disagreement about the meaning of feminism, and the accuser's inability to see male domination as the central problematic of feminism. en_US

unsw.description.notePublic This is the third of three brief contributions I made to the debate sparked off by the 'Heterosexuality' issue of Feminism & Psychology. The others are 'Retaining the radical challenge: a reply to Wendy Hollway (1994), and 'Theory and its discontents: another reply to Wendy Hollway (1995). My own paper in that issue of the journal was 'Against the dividing of women' (1992). All are listed on UNSWorks, together with their sources. en_US
