Abstract
The paper discusses access to sun and daylight in residential buildings, in the context of compliance with the Residential Flat Design Code which gives effect to State Environment Planning Policy 65 in NSW, Australia. The treatment of daylighting is more thorough. It includes a discussion of the absence of enforceable standards, and the reliability of commonly used prediction methods.
