Abstract
Reviews basic phenomena in accretion and erosion. A review of historical data on the past behaviour of the beach with hindcasting of some wave data from meteorological records. Preliminary measurements, currents, wave refractions, littoral drift and sand grading. Various possible measures for mitigating erosion are discussed. Recommends trials of stock piling and offshore dumping. Further data collection and analysis recommended.
