Abstract
Reclamation of inlets on the estuary is proposed which will affect the river regime. Reduced tidal velocity will bring siltation. Ten percent reduction of cross section of the river. Pollution increase from reduced tidal storage. It is unwise to proceed with large scale reclamation .It is recommended that a joint committee look at present and future planning and initiate a programme of data collection.
