Abstract
This article outlines the authors' experience of conducting collaborative research in the child welfare field. The research partnership involves an agency of the Uniting Church, UnitingCare Burnside (Burnside), one of the largest non-government providers of child and family services in NSW, and researchers at the University of Sydney. Facilitated by an Australian Research Council 'Linkage' Grant, the three year collaboration began in early 2002 with the goal of establishing the scope and limits of performance indicators in child and family services.
