Abstract
Investigates a wide range of groundwater flow to wells. The results of numerical solutions provide practical goundwater hydrologists with more complete information than hitherto for optimal well design. Near flow largely affects performance. Factors investigated include nonlinear flow, acquifer inhomogeneity, well geometry and boundary conditions. Results are presented in design tables and figures, and the application to well design is discussed.
