dc.description.abstract In this paper we show that a nonlinear optical amplifier can be constructed based on amplification of the second harmonic of the signal, while the fundamental harmonic is subject to losses. The second harmonic then transfers its energy back to the fundamental one, causing nonlinear amplification of the signal, while the noise is attenuated. en_US
