Abstract
A great deal of commonality and similar drivers exist between all management systems, whether addressing OHS, quality or environmental matters. Consequently, a trend is re-emerging towards the integration of management systems under one super system.
An integrated management system (IMS) can help organisations to effectively manage their environmental, OHS and quality issues, while saving on financial and human resources. Integrated management systems can significantly reduce the burden of implementing two or more systems and avoid duplication.
