Abstract
Volunteering has been taken as an important index of civil society, or as an indicator of the social health and connectedness of communities. The report includes a review of the literature on current developments in volunteering, the state of volunteering in Australia, projections of future volunteer supply and a summary of the focus group discussions with volunteers and non-volunteers.
