dc.description.abstract Model studies form the basis for investigating the hydraulics of bywash spillways of farm dams. When constructed of natural earth, the cross section is trapezoidal. Scour protection is neeeded, usually in the form of grass. These tests extend to variations in cross section geometry and surface roughness, and resultant head discharge relationships. Recommendations given for new designs. en_US
