dc.description.abstract | A qualitative methodology was used to research family resilience in families who have a child aged 0 - 8 years with disability. The research was conducted in two parts – a literature review and primary data collection with families (where a child 0 - 8 years of age has a disability) and other key stakeholders, such as service providers, family advocacy groups and government officials This report summarises the findings of the final report, which focuses on the findings from the primary data collection with families and stakeholders. It develops the understanding of family resilience in families with young children (0 - 8 years of age) with disability. This component of the research also analyses service practices and models in order to identify and define elements of practice that build family resilience, detract from family resiliency, and are crucial to the maintenance of resiliency. It concludes with a section on how services can assist families to build and maintain resilience. This report should be read in conjunction with the literature review. | en_US |
