Abstract
Delivered at a NEERG Seminar for professionals involved in development control and approvals in NSW Australia, the paper discusses mandated planning controls of amenity in both private and public domains. An overview of the roles of Development Control Plans (DCPs) and the Residential Flat Development Code is followed by an introduction to likely impact of the then recent introduction of BASIX, the State Environmental Planning Policy addressing sustainability issues in residential construction.
Appendices reproduce in full relevant sections of previous NEERG presentations on solar access and natural ventilation.
