dc.description.abstract | A scheme to supply seawater to a desalination plant is under development by engineers from the University of New South Wales` Water Research Laboratory, as outlined in the article. This feature also covers a live video technology used by Yarra Valley Water and a minirobot that can walk on water. The traditional method of feeding sea-water to a desalination plant is by piping the water directly from the sea. The alternative method is to use beach wells to extract seawater, which is then piped to a desalination plant. Various types of beach wells have been used in several countries | en_US |
