(1959) Munro, C. H.ReportComprehensive topographic, hydrographic, hydraulic (model) economic studies for mitigating flood damage. Reproducing disastrous 1929 flood and maximum probable flood in North Esk and South Esk Rivers. Hydraulic efficiencies of various methods of mitigation tested, each with scale model and cost benefit analysis. Recommendations for levees for an estimated maximum flood of 250,00 cusecs. The wisdom of expenditure on thorough preliminary research was forcibly demonstrated.

(1959) Munro, C. H.ReportHydrology has been neglected in Australia, under-appreciated by civil engineering. Recent projects suggest that water research is inadequately funded. Stimulating interest in hydrology has not progressed. There is a need for research groups at various levels to cooperate with authorities. Universities have a role to play, and hydrology should be in undergraduate courses.

(1959) Munro, C. H.ReportEmbodies hydraulic model tests undertaken to suplement WRL Research Report No. 8. The use of curved training levees located in Royal Park and breakwaters in the Tamar River to divert the South Esk River are investigated as alternatives to recommendations for straight levees in WRL Research Report No. 8.
