unsw.relation.projectDesc An experimental investigation of the flow-induced sound produced by a smooth, wall-mounted finite length airfoil with flat ended tip. Acoustic and flow measurements have been taken in the Stability Wind Tunnel at Virginia Tech. The aims of this study are to determine (1) what is the character of noise produced by a wall-mounted finite airfoil, (2) what is the effect of airfoil aspect ratio on noise generation and (3) how do three-dimensional aerodynamics affect turbulent boundary trailing edge noise and tonal noise production. en_US
