Abstract
Histopathological data extracted from reports held by state Cancer Registries for melanomas diagnosed in an Australian cohort of kidney transplant recipients, 1982-2003. Data linkage of the Australia and New Zealand Dialysis and Transplant Registry (ANZDATA) with the Australian Cancer Database identified 82 cases of cutaneous melanoma. For each case, 3 melanomas have been randomly selected from the jurisdictional cancer registries and frequency matched as controls. Histopathological information has been extracted from reports held at the Cancer Registries for these melanomas, and linkage with the National Death Index will provide date and cause of death for survival analyses.
