Abstract
This project reviewed policy and research about family day care and home-based childcare in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. It examined the structure, funding and regulation of home-based child care and recent policy developments, investigating the implications for the accessibility, affordability and quality of early childhood education and care (ECEC) services. In addition, the project reflected on the relevance of international models for Australian family day care services.
